A position has arisen at St Petrock’s resource centre for a calm, confident, pro-active, and non-judgmental Support Worker who will work as part of a team to oversee and manage the safety of operations within our centre and support delivery of our mobile rough sleeper service around Exeter city centre. Previous experience of work in a similar environment and/or client group is desired.

Applicants should have good organisational, problem solving, and interpersonal skills, be able to use effective communication skills to manage challenging situations, and should understand the importance of confidentiality and discretion. They will require an understanding of the key causes of homelessness, as well as an understanding of the needs of vulnerable clients, including those with mental health or substance dependency issues. Candidates should be adaptable and flexible, and enjoy the variety and challenge of working in both a busy centre and outdoors environment.

Normal working hours for the post will be 22.5 hours / week, to be worked 8.30am – 1pm Monday – Friday. This is a fixed-term post for 6 months.
