Volunteer

“Volunteers don’t get paid, not because they’re worthless, but because they’re priceless.”

Sherry Anderson

We always need reliable regular volunteers, either in our kitchen, our vintage shop or increasingly, to help with our fundraising work.

Volunteers form the backbone of our services at St Petrock’s and each person makes an invaluable contribution to our work.

In our shop

We are looking for enthusiastic, team-spirited volunteers with a ‘can–do’ attitude to help with our vintage clothing shop, Petrock’s Place.

Working alongside our shop manager, you will play a key role in engaging with the Exeter community to help increase understanding of homelessness issues in our city. This is a great opportunity to gain experience in a retail environment and make new friends. Volunteers should be able to commit to at least a three-hour shift per week.

Please see our shop volunteer role description for full details of what’s involved and download an application form.

In the kitchen

Our catering manager sometimes needs help with preparing, serving and clearing away cooked breakfasts and lunches, which are distributed by our mobile rough-sleeper team.

We need people who can commit to a regular slot. Volunteers should be over 18 and able to commit to a weekday morning four-hour slot for a minimum of six months.

If you’d like to help, please see the role description and complete the kitchen volunteer form

Events

If you’d like to help us with fundraising from time to time, please complete the events fundraising application.

Thank you so much.
