We’re pleased to report that our new social lettings service, which was launched in partnership with Exeter City Council with 12 months’ funding from central government, is now fully operational.
The Fair Lets project works to open up access to a wider range of good quality, affordable private rented accommodation options for people who are experiencing extreme housing need, and who require additional support to access this sector. Specifically targeting families and individuals who would struggle to access a ‘mainstream’ lettings agency, the project builds on the success of St Petrock’s existing private rental & support work and widens its appeal. Fair Lets provides a rapid rehousing pathway to accommodate rough sleepers in private rental accommodation, and houses people who approach Exeter City Council with a housing need. The project works with both clients and landlords to ensure tenancies are successfully maintained.
Since Fair Lets launched, several new landlords have joined the 80+ local property owners St Petrock’s already works with; we’re keen to find more to further enhance access for people in need of a home.
