St Petrock’s centre is delighted to have been approved as an official Covid vaccination site.
Working in partnership with Public Health, Devon County Council and the Clocktower Surgery, we help our first drop-in clinic on 3rd August. A total of 12 of our rough-sleeping clients received vaccinations (some first and some second doses), with further clinics planned for September.
Many people we work with can struggle to access healthcare via mainstream routes or attend pre-booked appointments and can be reluctant to access more formal statutory services. Offering drop-in clinics in a safe, familiar environment, where trusted relationships with staff are already established, makes a big difference.
Our on-site clinics are part of a wider programme across Exeter to help ensure everyone has access to vaccinations. Previous drop-in clinics have taken place at the Clocktower Surgery (Exeter’s dedicated GP surgery for people who are homeless) and at mobile pop-ups around the city.
