The Devon Offender Resettlement Service is a pilot partnership project between Community Housing Aid and St Petrock’s to support offenders in housing need to secure sustainable accommodation in the Exeter, East and Mid Devon, Teignbridge and Torbay areas.

The Service Pilot has been developed to support the Government’s Reducing Re-offending Strategy and will ensure that ex-offenders have faster access to advice, accommodation and support services post release from HMP Channings Wood and HMP Exeter.  We are looking for 2 Offender Resettlement Workers – one for Torbay and Teignbridge and another for Exeter, East and Mid Devon.

The successful candidates will provide a high quality client-centred contact, assessment and support service, for the effective engagement and resettlement of ex-offenders.  This will involve the effective liaison with partners in the Offender Resettlement Service, Exeter and Channings Wood resettlement prisons, Dorset, Devon and Cornwall Community Rehabilitation Company, Local Authorities and Engage Hubs.

Candidates will need a patient and calm professional manner and a fair, non-discriminatory, non-judgemental approach.  Proven experience of working with vulnerable adults with a range of immediate and on-going support needs, liaising and co-ordinating work in partnership with external agencies is essential, as is good IT, administration and communication skills.
